November 20, 2020, at 12:30 pm: Getting to Know the Mid-Atlantic Ocean Portal with Karl Vilacoba from Monmouth University’s Urban Coast Institute.

Description: The Mid-Atlantic Ocean Data Portal (portal.midatlanticocean.org) is a free and publicly accessible GIS mapping, and information site focused on ocean areas from New York through Virginia. The Portal houses over 5,000 interactive map layers showing offshore wind energy areas, shipping traffic concentrations, fishing hot spots, wildlife migration patterns, and much more. Take a guided tour of this resource and learn how to map the ocean with the Portal team’s Karl Vilacoba.
