2011 GeoSpatial Summit

The NYS GIS Association and the NYS Office of Cyber Security are pleased to announce that the 6th annual NYS GeoSpatial Summit , held on June 15- 16, 2011 at the Welch-Allyn Lodge in Skaneateles, New York, was a highly successful event. Over 130 attendees heard from an outstanding panel of keynote speakers who discussed a wide range of timely issues in the geospatial world. Topics were diverse and included interaction among speakers and attendees on issues such as crowd-sourcing of spatial data, satellite imaging systems, GIS for intelligence gathering, and the use of geospatial technology in urban design. Based on comments from those in attendance, the Welch-Allyn venue once again proved to be a beautiful setting for both the evening reception on June 15th as well as the full day Summit on June 16th.

Why Come to the Summit?

reception

The Summit is a unique opportunity to learn about the direction that the geospatial industry is going as well as how it is helping to shape the world.

This event provides attendees with a unique forum intended to bring together the best in the geospatial industry, to discuss the latest events shaping the industry and engage geospatial professionals in New York in frank and open dialogs on a wide range of topics.

Select individuals from around the country are invited to speak in the morning and afternoon on cutting edge topics.  At the end of each ½ day session a panel discussion allows attendees to engage each of the speakers to answer questions they may have or open discussions on new areas of interest.

The discussion is, indeed, stimulating and attendees always leave the Summit rich in the knowledge they have gained as well as the thoughts that have been provoked! at the spectacular setting in historic Skaneateles Falls, NY in the finger lakes region.
