The New York State GIS Association is pleased to announce that the 2016 GeoSpatial Summit will be held on Friday, October 21st at the Bern Dibner Pfizer Auditorium, NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering, 5 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn, NY.
The GeoSpatial Summit enables sharing and discussion of innovative and emerging ideas in our field and you won’t want to miss it! This will be the NYS GIS Association’s only statewide event this year as the Association alternates yearly between NYGeoCon and the GeoSpatial Summit.
We will kick off the event on Thursday, October 20th at the DB Pfizer Auditorium with the NYS GIS Association Annual Meeting at 4:00 pm, followed by food, drinks, and great company at the GeoSpatial Summit reception from 5:30 – 8:30pm.
This is the 9th GeoSpatial Summit and we have an exciting lineup of speakers in the works. Jack Eichenbaum of The Geography of NYC (http://www.geognyc.com/) will speak at our Thursday evening Reception. Two of the six keynote speakers for the Summit on Friday are:Chris Tucker, founder of MapStory.org and Chair-Elect of the American Geographical Society (http://americangeo.org/); and Mike Flowers, former Chief Analytics Officer for NYC, and Senior Fellow for What Works Cities (http://whatworkscities.bloomberg.org/).
