Annual Meeting

The NYS GIS Association Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 1:10 PM to 2:30 PM during NYGeoCon at the beautiful Crowne Plaza in Lake Placid, NY. If you have not already registered for this year’s conference, please do so here.

The Association’s accomplishments for the current year and plans for the next year will be discussed. Election results for two at-large Board members and the President-Elect will be announced. Awards will also be announced. More on that below.

We are a volunteer organization. Our success is driven by the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. Please consider giving back to the Association and running for one of the open positions. It truly can be a rewarding opportunity to make an impact on our geospatial community.

Nominations for the Board and President-Elect of the NYS GIS Association are open until September 18, 2017. If you are interested in running for one of the two at-large Board positions or President-Elect please contact Andy Mendola (

At-large Board members serve for two years. The President-Elect is a 3-year position. The first year is as President-Elect, second year serving as President and the third as Past-President.

Voting and Membership

To vote in the election, you must be a member in good standing before September 18. Please make sure that your membership fee has been paid: Keep in mind that membership lapses on June 30th so you may unwittingly no longer be a member. And new for this year, we now have a 5-year membership option.
